You can install as many browsers as you wish, not just firefox but you can also have, say, Opera or Maxthon.

Never ever uninstall IE, you need it for your security windows updates and it's also an important part of your operating system.
Well it's recommended to keep both. There are some pages on the Internet that require Internet Explorer (for example, Windows Update). So it's ok to have both, it's just a personal preference on which web browser you want to use. I have both, but personally I love Mozilla Firefox better than Internet Explorer.

Yahoo toolbar runs significantly better on IE 7 than IE 6. Since you don't give any details about your problems, it is difficult to answer your question about outlook and I don't see why it should matter what version of IE you have with my yahoo. I agree with David D, If you have Windows XP you should upgrade to IE 7. Security is poor in IE 6 and support will be limited. IE 6 was open to far more secuirty loop holes and is much easily taken over by spyware/hijackers.

My question for you is a simple one: If your car was broken and you had the option of puttting a more fuel efficient engine in it or putting the exact same type of engine in it before (the one that ran well but consumed more gass), Which would you choose? My point being is that as things change and update we as a society need to update with it. Taking a negative approach (not a careful approach!) towards a trend of moving forward only stunts your progression even in computers and learning. That does not mean the next time a service pack comes out to install it but to wait a few week/months for the bugs to be worked out.

I am still using (and will continue to use IE6). I see no reason to change to 7! I have downloaded the MSN Toolbar which gives me tabbed browsing without the hassle of downloading 7. We have 7 at work and I hate it!
Not switching to IE7 (or Firefox, Opera or Safari, etc (i.e. away from IE 6)) will cause problems in the long term. IE 6 has rather weaker support for standards and has many more bugs then other browsers so it is more expensive for site authors to support (and they will stop doing so when its market share falls far enough).
i'm not really fond of ie, but 7 is ok. other than being a tad bit bloated.

The best advice I can give you is to make sure your lease spells everything out clearly. Include the amount of rent, when it's due, if there is a late fee, if pets are allowed, any rules you have, if the lease can be broken by giving 30 days notice, if they lose the security deposit if they move before the end of the lease, etc. Also, include an appendix page that lists everything that is in the house when the tenant moves in. If you are renting it furnished then list all of the furniture, list things like refrigerator, stove, smoke detectors, etc. You want everything in writing in case you have to take a tenant to court. I don't know where you live but consider renting through HUD. My mom has several properties and she likes renting through HUD because the rent gets direct deposited into her checking account. She doesn't have to wait for a tenant to pay or go collect rent. Sometimes HUD will only pay part though and you do have to get the rest from the tenant. Personal references aren't always reliable because the tenant is going to put people that they know will give them a good reference. Your best bet is to talk to their previous landlord. It's not adware; it's a setup page for IE7. You likely didn't complete the setup, or the settings didn't take for some reason.

It sounds like you have adware. I would suggest updating and running a good adware program. There are a few good free ones out there, but be careful, there are some programs claiming to be adware removers that you download, and it comes up with all the adware you have, doesn't let you delete it unless you pay for the subscription, it is really nasty to get rid of. So make sure you do some searching on the program before you download it. Learn from others mistakes.

Pretty much anybody who knows alot about computers uses it; the regular consumer doesn't use it because they don't know it's capabilities; they don't know it was rated THE # 1 PROGRAM according to PC Magazine's top 100 software products; they don't know it's absolutely free; they don't know it is not as easily vulnerable like IE; meaning it protects you from virus's; they don't know how many extensions you can download to COMPLETELY customize firefox to your exact liking; they don't know that instead of having 10 different stupid windows, you can have just 1 window open in firefox and be at like 5 sites at the same time inside one browser. Alot of people just don't know, and are not informed.

I know me personally, when I first heard about firefox I was at nintendo.com, and everybody is ranting about it, so I naturally thought it was some stupid mario-themed browser, but I began to hear more and more about it as time went on, then I tried it, and trust me once you have it, you never go back to stupid IE.

It's possible that you Internet Explorer cache got deleted, purged, and/or truncated. When you navigate to a Website/Webpage your browser downloads the information of the page, the media, and the cookies into a folder called "Temporary Internet Files". When you navigate away typiclly Internet Explorer will keep the files in that folder so that if you go back to that Website/Webpage then you will have all files ready at hand to render the page (this aviods redownloading all the things to a webpage/website). This folder typiclly has a size limit and will automaticlly delete things to make room for new things. You may also purge the folder manually Tools%26gt;Internet Options%26gt;General Tab%26gt;Temporary Internet Files Frame%26gt;Delete Files. Play around with you could learn alot.

I really wouldn't suggest using Internet Explorer as a offline browser. There are many third party applications that could fit the suit alot better. Do a search, pick one you like.

There are sevral bugs in IE that could cause this. Thats the reasion why I switched to firefox and apart from being faster and safer it has never frozen on me.
Download MozillaFireFox it's free and way,way faster than IE with no error messages no trouble and very good protection (firewall) you can have the two of them at the same time.

Go for it . If you don't like it just uninstall it.

You cannot uninstall Internet explorer unless it is IE7 if it is IE6 then it is part of the operating system and uninstalling it will make you operating system unstable. Try cleaning out the temp files and really I wouldn't use it as it is so slow compared to Firefox Mozilla, and the add ons and other feature's with it are far superior to IE any day.

dont put the blame on yahoo. it is what you did that change yahoo as the default page by downloading the tool bar. anyways, not a difficult problem. go to tools, internet options, and type the msn website in the home page address and click the apply button and ok it. that will take care of it.

If you go to the bottom of your screen, you will see a box - click on it and it will put you where you want to be again. the reason it does this is because another programme is already activated. When you click to go online, it starts the other programme first, and minimizes the second.

Internet Explorer 7 you mean? I believe if you have a program installed on a PC and you have tried to uninstall it, it sometimes leaves some files on your PC and it has something to do with the computer registry. Did you remember any point on the uninstallation that it asked you something like this "There are some programs that are being used by other softwarek, do u wish to remove them?" IF you clicked no then it might be left on your PC still and its the content that is uninstalling and your PC still detects the IE as a program still installed on your PC.

I tested all IE7 beta programs. And you have to download their final version IE7, an it will uninstall the program. The behavior is very strange because Microsoft will check to make sure that your platform has a valid key atleast four times with their "WGA" tool while uninstalling the beta version.

Then Microsoft will tell you that you must reboot your system, before the wizard will guide you through the new IE7. Plus Microsoft will also tell you that you monitor will be blank. (No icons or program will appear on boot-up. Only the wizard to guide you through the installation of IE7.

After the installation all of your icons and programs will appear on your screen. Plus the process is slow and you get the feeling that you will never see your programs in your system load as they claim.

All I can say is that everything went well for me. Althought I had some reservations, due to how slow the program installed.

The reason you couldn't simply install beta3 over the top was that this option was not enabled in ANY of the beta/developer builds for more accurate testing in beta builds - was the best way of avoiding problems %26amp; inaccurate feedback caused by upgrade conflicts...was deliberate not an error

Just install the official release of IE7. That will remove the Beta version.

There is usually a process or program running in the background to allow this to happen, usually starting at boot and loading when your computer starts. Goto your Start Menu and click on "Run". Type in "MSCONFIG" and click "OK". You can then click on the "Startup" tab and look for anything out of the ordinary then remove the check mark in the box that allows it to start on boot. Also make sure you check your "startup" menu in the Start Menu and remove anything unsual. Also uninstall any programs recently installed that might be the culprit.
I wouldn't download the newest antispyware software that the pop up screen recommends (it's often bogus and only adds to the problem)

I think I know what you had I had something like this awhile ago.

What it does is it sends a false error message encouraging you to download something. It's like a virus type thing. What you should do is go to tools on your Internet then click on manage add ons then enable and disable the ones you do or do not want, one of the add ons might be causing this. If this doesn't work your going to have to find the file someone in your computer (which means someone downloaded something with spyware/virus in it) and delete it. Also if none of these work you can do a system restore on your computer for this you click on start%26gt;help and support%26gt;Undo changes with your computer with system restore, choose a date on there when your computer was working properly and that should fix it. I not only deleted the entire Favorite file, but killed it all together. When I add a site, it only saves for about a minute and deletes itself. Have run 4 different Registry and virus sweeps to no avail. When I cllck start and explore the system, all the favorite files are there. What did I do wrong and how does it get corrected.

To exemplify: Firefox (with the aid of the extensions I have installed) tells me my local weather forecast in the status bar, has a simple double click dictionary lookup tool (i.e. I click a word and I get a popup with the definition), it blocks advertising to speed up my browsing, allows me to view pdf files as HTML even if they are not cached by google, has a stock ticker in the status bar aswell, and much more. (Those things I mentioned are all done by the extensions, they are not enabled by default, but it is very easy to install those extensions. They are called 'forecastfox', 'tooltip dictionary', 'adblock plus', 'pdf download', and 'Alphaticker' respectively. All you have to do is search for them on the site I gave you, and click install.)

At least give it a try, the interface is hardly different from Internet explorer, yet it is a much better browser. If you don't like it you can always uninstall it again...

Oh and I forgot to add, firefox has an option to clear all your private data like cookies, temp files, internet history etc every time you close it. The only thing it can't do is empty your recycle bin =)

Your best option would be to reinstall Internet Explorer from your Windows XP or Vista CD, or else download it from the Microsoft website:

Once you have done that, it should place a new Favorites folder on your hard drive, and allow you to resave all of your favorites. If you haven't already done so, it's a good idea to back up your Favorites or Bookmarks (if you're using Firefox or Netscape) at least once a year or so.
You need to re-install IE. I also clear cookies a and temp Internet files without a problem. Recycle bin shouldn't influence this.

You can do the above from your operating system disc if you have one or go to the Microsoft web site and find it there.
unfortunately I agree with you it looks like you have done someting silly to explorer, what operating system are you using (XP? win2000/2003? and can you reinstall internet explorer?) if you can do a reinstall that may fix it, but it sounds like you've corrupted a system file somehow that your favourites don't get saved...

sorry I can't help you more, but Favourites really are a system folder, so unless you know someone who knows ALOT about the internal windows system, its difficult to help you here...

Note: clearing cookies, emptying the recycle bin and clearing temp internet files are good things, they shouldn't affect your favourites... unless somehow you dragged your favourites into your recycle bin or temp internet files or something somehow?....

I don't know where you heard this, but I find it highly suspect. He hasn't even been tried for the other crimes he's commited, but perhaps the evidence was flimsy and they just wanted to get it over with.

Anyway, there are several reasons.

A: This guy isn't just a 'murderer', he commited Genocide and ruled over the Iraqui people with an iron fist for two decades. He's been convited in the court of public opinion since before the invasion. There was no way he was going to be found innocent or end up doing anything less than dieing in jail. Find me a Death Row inmate that fits these qualifications and you've got an argument.

B: Iraq is in a state of de facto Martial Law. When there are car bombs going off in the streets of DC, the courts and police are held at a stand-still and goverment is bound and gagged by sectarian factions in America, then you'll be able to hang anyone sufficently unpopular any day of the week. No problem.

Until then, you'll just have to put up with 'Due process'. Some really smart people, who just happen to have founded this country thought it was important. Maybe you should have a little more respect. If it wern't for due process, you could be held without charges indeffinetly, recive an invalid trial, be the victem of torture and many other fates that are being visited on people we call 'enemy conbatants'.

I guess if seeing someone you don't like die sooner is more important than your right to a trial to you, you should write your congressman about it, but I wouldn't expect to find them very sympathetic.

First of all, you did not get burned by IE7. You either had it on your computer before downloading IE 7 or aquired it after downloading IE 7. System Doctor is an adware program that claims you are infected with bogus infections and then wants you to purchase it to remove them. It is a useless program and will remove nothing but money from you account.

The way you aquired System Doctor is through a download of another program. Failing to read the EULA allowed the download. The EULA would have told you that an additional program would be added to the download. Neither Yahoo or Microsoft add adware to their downloads.

I empathise with you for not wanting to read those long, boring EULA's. I don't like reading them either. That is why I use a free program called EULAlyzer. It anlyzes the EULA and alerts you to key word(s) and phrases that could indicate additional download(s). For example, the words "Third Party" could indicate another program will be downloaded, so, it alerts you to every instance of it being used in the EULA. Then you examine these parts of the EULA. Usually this refers to you providing the program to others to use. You can get this program here:

Now to the Most Important Part, the removal of the infection. The following looks long and daunting. It is long but not daunting. If you follow it step by step you will have not problems doing it. The programs listed will remove this infection and any others you might have hiding in your computer. AdAware SE with the setup as listed is the best adware remover available. I don't think they have made these Answers page Printer Friendly yet, so, you can copy and paste it to a Word or Email and then print it.

Trojan Removal Procedure.

Removing infections from your computer is never as easy as aquiring them. Malware infections are not meant to be removed, so, it takes TIME and PATIENCE to get rid of them. ONLY RESORT TO A REFORMAT AFTER ALL ELSE FAILS TO REMOVE THE INFECTION.

This procedure works for all Malware. Replace the Ewido and AdAware SE programs with any AntiVirus or AntiSpy program you choose.

Download and Update Ewido (now called the AVG Antispyware). Do not run:

AdAware SE Setup:

IMPORTANT: Files are hidden by Windows for a very good reason. It is not wise to experiment with these files. Unfortunately, to successfully remove modern spyware we must turn this protection off temporarily. Please turn the protection back on when you have finished cleaning your system.

EMPTY INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER CACHE:

1. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.

2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button. Select the Delete all offline content check box in the confirmation dialogue box that appears, click OK. Click OK again.

RESTART IN SAFE MODE:

To do this you need to hold down or repeatedly tap the F8 key while the computer is booting (when the computer is displaying a black screen with white text). When the boot menu appears, use your keyboard arrows to select "Safe Mode."

Safe Mode can look quite ugly. The color may look bad, and all of your desktop icons will be very large. This is normal.

START THE SCAN WITH ADAWARE SE. THEN DO IT WITH EWIDO.

NOTE: Let AdAware complete its scan. Sometimes AdAware will be unable to remove everything that it finds and will prompt to be allowed to try again after restarting. If that happens, when the scan finishes restart immediately and allow the scan to finish.

When the scan and removal are completed REBOOT COMPUTER. This will restart you in normal mode. DON'T FORGET TO RESET HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.

NEW RESTORE POINT:

The RESTORE POINTS may be infected with the Malware and cannot be used.

HERE'S HOW:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click on the System Restore tab.

3. Select the Turn Off System Restore check box, click Apply, then restart your computer.

4. Return to the System Restore Tab and turn System Restore back on.

TO SET A NEW RESTORE POINT:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Point to Programs, then navigate to Accessories, then System Tools, then click System Restore.

3. Choose Create a restore point, and then click Next.

4. In the Restore point description box, type a name for your restore point, and then click Next.

5. Click OK.

NOTE: If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and are unable to access the Internet after removing Malware, there is a command that may fix the problem. Popup blockers, such as the Yahoo and Google toolbars, will only stop web based popups. They can help somewhat but will do nothing to stop popups on a computer that is badly infected with trojan downloaders that are contacting other computers to download and deliver the pop up ads.

Try a full cleaning and dis-infection routine, if you are getting excessive popups, or are getting popups even when you are offline.

This is the one I use (it will take some time).

1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender

Download the free Yahoo tool bar as it has a pop up stopper and it stops all mine.

I did use popupstopper,com but not any more.
I don't think that anyone has come up with a Pop-Under Blocker yet. But there are many free Pop-Up Blockers available.
There's a trick w/IE7 to eliminate this problem. Just right click on the eye at the bottom right and the instructions will appear and assist you in getting rid of the distraction.
Try using the Norton Spyware Removal tool in Yahoo! Toolbar and Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org) Both may be able to find your problem. Also there are many good Popup Blockers avaliable. Yahoo Toolbar, Google Toolbar, Live Toolbar all have Popup Blockers I think. I know Yahoo has one for sure. God Bless.
If it is spyware, there is no "one" program to detect everything. Different programs can detect different things. I recommend in addition to using ad-aware, try a free program called Dr. Virus. It is pretty good at detecting spyware. You can find at the download section at zdnet.com. Also make sure you internet explorer is updated. You can so this by going to the windows update, in the tools menu.
Click the icon between the two search bars above and make sure that the pop up blocker is enabled! Peace!

Umm that should of replaced your old internet explorer!!!!

If it is not on your desktop then you will need to:

Right click the desktop

Select properties

Click customize desktop under the general tab

this will give you the option to Add internet, recycle bin, my documents and also network places.

Just add internet explorer

If a program won't close normally, try closing it from task manager. 1. Right click on your task bar.

2. Select Task Manager.

I downloaded the same program last night and it knocked out all the saved passwords I had for different sites. As for it loading slowly, if you click the button to load it without the add ons then it will load a lot quicker. Might be an idea if you deleted it then reinstalled it from scratch.

Install a good virus protection suite %26amp; update it. Pc cillen by trendmicro is a good one %26amp; has a free online scan that also removes problems. AVG has a free version for download. Avast is another great free one.

Then start your pc in safe mode (depending on pc type this is usually a different key combination), generally as soon as you turn on the pc you hit the key combination F8 and choose safe mode. Don't be scared, it's supposed to look this weird. Safe mode runs the bare minimum, which is why you want to remove problem programs in it, they can't hide in safe mode like they can during normal start up. Then run your virus software. This should remove it. If not completely then you need to go to the trendmicro or symantec web site for further instructions. %26amp; try hitting it with the programs I listed below.

For future reference:

Always make sure your Window’s is completely updated, along with Office and Internet Explorer (if you insist on using it – version 6 is the worst so far for known issues).

Use a firewall, zone alarm is free %26amp; pretty user friendly. %26amp; get the following products.

Get Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy by Patrick Kolla Great free program for finding spyware. Don't be cheap, give the guy a donation.

You can stop most programs from loading by using "msconfig". It's not on XP so you have to download it from a site such as perfectdrivers. Most programs beyond firewalls and virus protection do not need to run at start up. It's too bad that "Blackvipers" site is still down. He had an incredible list of how to stop unwanted and unneeded services in 2k %26amp; XP from running %26amp; slowing pc down. It is however still being posted on sites, so google his name.

Sysinternals process viewer is a great tool. It shows all the running processes on your pc %26amp; how they are interconnected. Plus it shows you which ones are problems. It’s been recently bought out by Microsoft, so for now it’s still free… but who knows what the future may bring.

Hijack this is a great program to see what programs are doing on your pc. Generally, you don’t need most of those programs. Hijack this has a lot of information about what is safe to disable %26amp; what is not safe. In general, you don’t need the vast majority beyond programs that have to run at start up, your web browser page of choice, virus protection %26amp; firewall hooks.

Well, it could be a joke set up by one of your friends and other whatnot. However, you could try removing it by running a spyware destroying programme and using an Anti-Virus.

Go to www.download.com and download AVG Anti-Virus (if you don't have one) and Lavasoft Ad-Aware (if you don't have one). Make sure they are both updated, and that should get rid of it. It might be other applications that you have installed on your PC though.

I think the first thing you should know is that Yahoo! is not providing a different version of IE than Microsoft, they just are hosting another download.

Now, in order to see a pop up that was blocked, what you will have to do is add the website that is trying to send yo a pop up to your trusted sites list.

You should be able to do this under preferences.

Once yo have done that, return to the website that had its pop ups blocked and do again what caused the pop up to try to pop up in the first place.

The problem is, if I open a new window (Window 2) and start working on something, like typing, on Window 1, the computer automatically brings Window 2 to view, even though I don't want it to. When I was on XP I never had to do this, could it be anything to do with my pc not needing the BT CD, my pc recognised my BT home hub straight away and I was online via BT Yahoo.

Sorry the following is so long ... but I first have to clear up the common misuse (or misunderstanding) of the terms 'microevolution' and 'macroevolution', and *then* address the evidence.

There is a lot of confusion about the difference between the terms 'microevolution' and 'macroevolution.' It is *NOT* some fundamental difference found in nature. In other words, macroevolution is simply the same process that produces microevolution, except on much longer time scales. That same process is simply called "evolution" ... and there is no fundamental difference between the two *in nature*.

It is a division that *biologists* sometimes make when *studying* evolution (in the same way that we distinguish between 'biochemistry' and 'molecular chemistry' ... but there is no real barrier between the two *in nature*). Microevolution is "evolution below and at the level of species." And macroevolution is "evolution at and above the level of species" ... but both include evolution *at* the level of the species ... i.e. the split of species into two species, which has been documented both by experiment and observation.

The only reason biologists make the distinction is that microevolution occurs on timescales of a few years ... while macroevolution occurs on longer timescales ranging to thousands or even millions of years. Thus microevolution (and some forms of macroevolution) can be studied using direct experiment ... while macroevolution mostly relies on observation (which is an equally valid way of doing science ... in fact, many sciences rely almost entirely on observation ... geology, astronomy, astrophysics, archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, climatology, meteorology, etc.).

Creationists try to exploit this difference between experiment and observation to imply that there is "little evidence" for macroevolution ... or even that macroevolution doesn't qualify as a science at all.

This is of course rubbish.

If there wasn't *tons* of evidence from observation that serves as powerful evidence of macroevolution, then scientists would not support it so strongly. The strongest of this evidence is the gene and DNA evidence showing unmistakeable signs of common ancestry between living species (not just a "relationship", but one of shared DNA sequences and genes that show *how much* any two species are related, and *when* their two genetic lines diverged). Almost as strong is the fossil evidence. But there is also embryological evidence, evidence from structures of species both alive and extinct, vestigial structures, homologous structures, atavisms, biogeography (e.g. the fact that kangaroos and all their fossils appear *only* in Australia), shared proteins, virology, bacteriology, etc. etc.

There is absolutely no reason the overwhelming majority (%26gt;98%) of scientists would continue to accept macroevolution if "the evidence is so little."

The toolbar must contain a pop-up blocker, which is preventing the download window from appearing. You should be able to turn that feature off in the options menu.

I never download any toolbars, because they clutter the screen and don't really add functionality, but do seem to be a good venue for spyware.

when viewing a web page, when I click on a link, the window opens and then closes right away, preventing me from reading how to fix this. You appear to have malware.

Get adaware, spybot, windows defender. All are free.

Install them.

Run them.

re-boot in safe mode.

run them again, and run ad/remove programs.

the best thing you can do is to download mozilla firefox. IE is very poor web browser, but you need it, so don't uninstall it. Either way, i'd recommend you to use both, and you'll see how superior firefox is.

I had so many problems with IE 7 that I went back to IE 6!

Hey! I got an error when I tried to email you....here's what I tried to send:

If you use Windows XP, you can use System Restore and pick the restore

point to just before you upgraded to IE 7. It won't affect anything

you've saved on your PC (email, documents,etc). You may have to load

System Restore from your Windows XP CD if it doesn't show up when you

select Start%26gt;Programs%26gt;Accessories%26gt;System Tools. That's what I had to do.

What's the easiest way to uninstall the latest upgraded version of Internet Explorer. My grandparents installed the new version on their computer, but they don't like it. Is there a way to just go back to 6.0?

You will not get that animation directly, even if you look for it you wont find it!

However some programs can make those kinds of animations in less than 2 seconds. It is generally known as 'flag'

One such program is cool edit from unlead.

However if you really wish to have only that animation you should try the registry .

You can modify it if you like.

By the way, you cannot uninstall IE because it is integrated into your

MS software, and that is a fact. If you really want to try and fix it, go to MS.com and see if you can get some tech support. Also you may want to debug your system as there is something in there that doesn't like IE7 and getting rid of your bug should clear up the problem.

Did you just install it? if you did then I suggest that you uninstall it and then reinstall from the microsoft web site.

If you have had it for awhile and it used to work then you might want to do a system restore from when it was working.

If you can't remove ie7 from the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, use System Restore to revert back to a date when you were using ie6. Follow this path:

Start%26gt;Programs%26gt;Accessories%26gt;System Tools%26gt;System Restore. Choose a date BEFORE you installed ie7.

Just add the website to Favorite list: (folow the steps)

Click the Menu %26lt;Favorites%26gt;

after adding, the webpage will appear in the Favorite menu at the very End of the menu

This is not really a direct answer to your question, but rather a work around.

I'd switch from IE to FireFox, it's a much better browser, in my opinion and it's a lot more stable.

A little more information would be helpful. What version of IE are you using. Have you installed all critical and recommended updates. I have been using IE7 and love it. Firefox seems to load pages a little slower on my system. Here is a helpful link.

Firefox should have imported your favourites during the installation of Firefox. You should not use both browsers at the same time, only add bookmarks in one of them (Preferably Firefox).

Copy the following folder to the other computer:

C:\Documents and Settings\[yourusername]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

The Profiles folder has a file called bookmarks.html this is your bookmarks file. I suggest you copy the whole folder to retain the same settings on the other computer.

There are several ways to get a page to open in a new tab instead of a new window:

1) Use CTRL-T to open a new tab, then navigate to the page you want to load (using a typed web address, or favorites/bookmarks)

2) Press the CTRL key while clicking links or click on the link with the middle mouse button. Click any tab with the middle mouse button to close it.

3) Press ALT+ENTER from the address bar or search box to open the result in a new tab.
